Some photos of Dads engines

Post  SmokeyJoe on Thu Nov 12, 2009 8:57 pm

I hope you enjoy these, will sort some more out later.

The stationary engine section at Meldreth in 1974. Dad still owns the 3 engines in the front.

Haddenham rally in 1974, only 8 engines in attendance. Dad had 6. He still has all in the photo apart from the PB

Another shot from haddenham in 74 with Dad looking on. Please note no fences

A young me and Dad's 4hp amanco at Expo Peterborough in 1981

The amanco at Buckden in 1980 with Dad, mum & me in background

Good to see "pics from the past"! Our club is having a slide show next week of photos taken by Peter Keating of rallies that he has attended from the early '70's up to the present day, it looks like being a long night Smile
I used to visit Steam Rallies in the 1960's/ '70's but stationary engines were not really shown at that time, mostly steam plus a few cars and commercials.

The Wolseley is a WD, the WD2 followed as the finned hopper was supposed to have improved cooling.

We still have the engine, although it is in bits waiting for a new head gasket and other projects over took it.
