Petter A1 plug and HT lead.

Post  stationary stu on Mon Sep 14, 2009 7:16 pm

Can anyone tell me the best spark plug to use in a Petter A1? I currently have a Lodge CN but i'm not happy with it. Also has anyone got a Petter A1 with a wipac mag? As I'd like to know how to replace the H.T. lead do I have to remove the mag to do it or is there an easy way to change it.

Stu.

Hi Stu,

The spark plug for the A1 engine is a LODGE BL14 with a gap of .020in (.5 mm). You would be able to convert to a modern type with the spark plug guide listed here.

As for the HT lead if you take the screws out of the cap to gain accaess to the points etc you should be able to remove it somehow that way, Ive never actually had to do that as my engine was running so ive never touched it (if it aint broke leave it alone).

Hope that helps if you have any probs give me a shout and we can have another look.

Paul

Hi Paul thanks for the information. Steve posted a reply earlier this week and I managed to follow his instructions and change the h.t. lead. The info on the plug is great as I keep getting told something different, but thats now the second time that plugs been mentioned so I'm going to go with that.

Many Thanks again,

Stu.
