i think it should be a fair price,
as long as it runs well, and not knocking its granny out of it
the mag should cover the cost on its own if it sparks like he told me
i bought it as its a cross breed with the villiers engine plate
a bit like the jap villiers MK40 highbreed of the two companys.

its like any stationary engine its only worth what you want to pay for it

WELL IVE HAD IT FOR A WEEK OR TWO NOW
it is the jap 4/3 design but jap went under in early 1963
and villiers bought the remnants of company outright in 1963
this is a villiers e30
basically is all the jap parts without the jap london on block and no jap 4/3 pressed into cowlings
it has the larger villiers fuel tank bottom tap not the front side fuel out jap style tank
the only link to the original jap 4/3 is stamped onto the top inside oil level dipstick and thats it
apart from the jap looks
this engine number makes it a 1964 engine
a when started to remove that disgusting wishy wash blue and silver arosol atack ther is a lot of a nice original dark blue and spotted when cleaning the cowling is also stamped 1964 so that is a double hit for the 1964 date

when i got the mag sparking again like it should then removed the valve cover to find exhurst was suck
so removed head and decoked head and valves removed bore of block and gave it a deglaze and ring grooves a good clean out
freed valve and lapped them in again
rebuilt it back up ,
went to fit head gasket again and found 2 spring washers pressed into it that were missing from the studs when i took the nuts off
so removed the studs from the cylinder top
and used a streight edge on the surfaceand alloy head thinking that it would be bent
but thank god it was all still flat ,"with a wipe of the brow "
used head gasket compound on gasket to test engine for a fire up
worked for about 15 secs and then the flame licker look from the head started
then the carb poored fuel out like the pipe was off so stopped it and fast
but it runns
will be buying a new old stock headgasket for it ,strip down carb and rebuild it
and try it again soon as

the fuel flow valve above the float had threaded out ontop of float and made it a sinker lol
but the guvornor link i added to the wanted listing has now feel into 3 pieces
didnt think it would of lasted long but not this quick to break never mind wired it up tempery

i love working on small old stationary engines
just wish i had a shot blasting room would speed up the tinwork restoration that takes all the time after the rebuild as the engines themselves srip easy with a drill powered wirebrush
