The Dennis engine was produced by Blackburn for the Dennis Motor Mower, It is basically a 500cc Blackburn engine modified for lawnmower use with Dennis on the side, it was known as a Dennis engine in mower form and was fitted to the Z type mower.

What cant speak can tell no lies....

Manual here:

Would need more info for the JAP

Cheers Steve

From the look at you Avitar pic I can see a cowling of a JAP, it looks to be on of the large engine 3/4, 5 something like that.

Has Dennis lawnmowers anything to do with Dennis truck builders ? I had asumed they were part of the same company but I could be wrong (like normal) I think the Dennis specalist vehicles used to be in Guildford.

Stu we have dennis's at work , have a look these - http://www.dennisuk.com/lawn-mower/ft-range/ .

we have these ones , and they are a serious professional mower far superior than ransomes and honda ... on par with on par with John Deere .

They cost around 3k plus you can get them with different attachments , for grooming and brushing and airiating .
