Been there, done that Matt. The Daily Sketch or The Daily Mirror were the best paper's for that purpose at that time, or you could buy Izal toilet paper which was like wiping your nether regions with a piece of hardboard! pale Ash closet's would have been the norm where Stu was brought up I reckon.

Yes Pete we still get the ash men coming round every week to empty them although we call them the midden men. The Izal paper used to come in a box and you only got one sheet at a time, we had them at school and the toilets at school were outside as well, never had a warm seat till I was about 8 and we moved and I went to a new school, what luxury.

on the subject of loo paper i did see you can buy a roll of siduku paper Laughing

Just imagine that you visiting the throne and doing a puzzle and after you can wipe Laughing Laughing only thing is make sure the ink from the pen has dried !
