Hello Newbie

Post  Harvey & Co on Wed Dec 14, 2011 8:23 pm

Hello, i'm Dave and new to the fascinating world of Stationary Engines!

My main interest is steam power and locos in general, i used to be a loco fireman on the S.V.R, but left due to family commitments Sad But the old man still works there building a new loco Class 3 tank 82045.

After seeing a few stationary engines about and my dad having worked on a farm in his younger days using Petter engines, we've aquired a Lister 'A' that needs a bit of tlc....

It's a bit different from other Lister A's that ive seen, it runs in reverse industrial rotation? belived to be built around 1936 -37

It's complete apart from a Mag and an exhaust silencer.

Thanks, it's got a bit of a top end knock, so going to strip it down and renew and clean up the internals.

Know anywhere i can get a magneto that will fit it?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Very Happy

Looks to be a good project you have put a thread in the New Projects/Restorations section (not many read new members) as there is a few members just finished or finishing off Lister A's so they should be able to help you.

Stu.
