I will need some help identifying the JAP engine I have just bought.
Once I am able, I will post some photos, but in the mean time, if anyone can tell what it is from my
avatar I would be very grateful.

Thanks, that is what I thought. It looks like a 2-stroke but it does not look like other photos of a Model 0.

JAP seemed to make a few diffrent configurations of there 2 stroke.
I had one like that on a Swan generator set, many moons ago!

Should be a letter that relates to a year, you engine would be from the 2nd block of numbers.

Found the engine number!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is an S80 of 1957 vintage.
It will make finding parts easier now.
