Nice one Holly, hope everything goes well and lets see some pictures before you start. Any idea what colour it's going to be?

Well I think Adam should get his wallet out and get you a proper engine, What do the rest of the forum think I think you deserve something better.

Nothing wrong with a nice old suffolk engine :P

My second engine was a suffolk colt that I found in a hedge, siezed solid and full of water...
Still attached to what was left of the mower....

I was 6 I think Very Happy
Took me a couple of days of fiddling and it ran nicely Very Happy

I think its a good starting point for an engine...
Basic, easy to move and work on....
And then once you know what the bits do, its easier to work on a bigger engine

Who side are you on were trying to get Adam to spend some of his money.

Just joking it was a Suffolk colt that started me collecting engines and I still have it tucked in the back of the shed.

update

Post  queenbabe on Fri Sep 11, 2009 2:19 pm

Hi

I started today by taking the cowling off and putting wire wool over it and the petrol tank.

All i have to do now is paint that and clean up the engine and give that a coat of paint and we should be up and running. Smile

Very Happy Adam should still spend out and get another engine for Holly :P

You can never have too many engines :P

I haven't got my old Suffolk colt anymore Sad
It got thrown out by my gran (it lived in her shed :P)

Oh well....I'm thinking about collecting old lawnmowers as well as the stationery engines Rolling Eyes
Already got a 1953 Atco 14" cut with a 73cc Villiers engine...whats nice is that its a kickstart mower :P

Any old mowers that people don't want anymore? :P lol!
