New to stationary engines
Hi guys, im here because i wanna learn more about stationary engines and im sure you guys are in the know.
Hopefully im in the right place and not upset people by what im doing..... i recently bought one of those cheap chinese 66cc Chinagirl engines to motorize a vintage bike i had.... i did it and it was fun but i really got a bug for building these things..... so i wanted to do more but didnt want to use those cheap engines..... so i scanned EBay and came across a reel mower, Villiers/Atco to be precise and i fell in love with the look of those little Villiers. Hopefully im not upsetting any Villiers mower enthusiast by using the motor and using the rest of the mower for steel and such for the build..... but at leat this little Villiers will live again, this time in a bicycle.
Ill post a thread for the Villiers bike that i built. Hope im in the right forum with like minded people, if not just let me know

Re: New to stationary engines
Hi Harry and welcome to the forum.
Glad to see someone has found a use for the small engines that not many people like, and are norrmally a starter engine for someone new to the hobby or kids to play about with and get used to stripping and re-building. I started with an old mower and I still have it buried in the back of the shed.
There is a few sites that restore mowers that would probably think you some kind of dingo for doing it but hey your saving the engine which is the main thing. I'll see if I can find there web site and maybe you could ask about the clutch on there,
Stu.
