new member checking in

Post  Nate on Fri Jun 10, 2011 12:53 pm

just joined the forum having bought myself a Petter on ebay yesterday, and figured i'll probably need to ask some stupid questions. first up, is there anywhere i can download a copy of the manual for the engine?

pics (clicky for bigger versions)

apparently it had been sat for 20 odd years in a barn, untouched by human hand. the guy selling said it fired easy enough with a bit of fuel squirted up the carb, so i figured it was worth a punt.

vid:

starts easy enough, ticks over quite happy, although it does start to bounce around if you pick the revs up  :o

it's got a fuel leak from the carb, a couple of oil leaks, the tank wants cleaning out and treating as the inside has gone very rusty and then some general tarting up, but otherwise all good  Smile

Hi Nate and welcome to the forum. Sounds like a good buy, mounted on a nice trolley looks as if it could be original. Don't know if anyone will have a manual but if you need to ask any questions I'm sure there's someone that can help as the Petter is a popular engine.
If you could get the engine dtails I'm sure someone will be able to date it for you.

Thanks for posting the pics.

Stu.
