Yanmar NT65K

Post  Niek on Wed May 11, 2011 7:54 am

My recently purchased Yanmar NT65K water cooled engine. I bought it completely taken apart so it'll
be quite a puzzle to put it together again. All information about this engine will be most welcome.

Cheers

Niek.

that looks like a very interesting job indeed, the crank looks rather large for an engine of that size.
good luck with your project.you must keep us up to date with your progress.

Hi Niek, Have you done any searches on google or Ask to see if they find anything? Do you know what application the engine is from? I would guess it's not marine or is it?

Good luck with the re-build.

Stu.

Hi Stu,

I had a look on the internet but thus far I haven't really found anything useful. (except for some
sites in Japanese) I'm not sure what this engine is used for but I have heard that they were used
in boats and also to power milkingmachines.

Today I removed the crankshaft bearing and found it to be completely shot. I asked the local "blacksmith" whether new parts could be ordered. I also bought a similar NT65K without a cilinderhead via the internet for spares. I'm currently waiting to pick it up. New pictures coming soon.

cheers

This is a (something got wrong with the camera) picture of the bearing.
I'll make a new photo tomorrow.
