Would seem my Scott is a bit odd, been trying to buy piston rings, would seem standard bore is 73mm but mine old heavily worn ring would say other wise, looking like it is 78mm and on measuring it is, now that a hell of a over bore at nearly 200thou (100thou from each side), having a dig and getting another Scott measured!

I can get rings no problem, just odd this ones bore is so large, and the fact is No 25 in production with such a large over bore with a scott piston seems a little odd, just more to research!

I like researching all part of the fun Very Happy I possible know where there is one, just waiting to hear back on it.
Might be sorted, a mate meassured his and it look like there is either a misprint in the sales stuff or the sale info is a pre-production model.

Dont go killing yourself Dave! take it easy, get a chair out and start barking the boys about Very Happy

Turns out the common thought that the Scott SE has the same bore and stroke as the Scott Long Stroke Flyer was miss found, even though it appears true in the sales info the bore on a SE is 78mm not 73mm as the sales info states, Checked this with another Scott owner and his 78mm, so discovered something new about the Scott SE stationary engine Smile
Seems to be the sales info is about a preproduction models, which also has a seprate induction tube, but it would seem that this was not sutable for production and a larger and new design barrel was cast, shame I cant really confirm it Sad
Well I found it a intresting few hours

Cheers Steve
