Just came across this post Rolling Eyes I was wondering if you had found out exactly what it was?
It reminds me of a Commer 2 stroke deiesl with it having one piston for two cylinders so to speak. Strange engine I only know as when I was at colledge many moons ago they had one as display, originated from a Commer TS3 dustbin truck used by Gateshead Council.

Has a strange sound to it, and looks to be a handful to get running. I wonder if it just needs a bit of fine tuning to run correctly. A great engine Very Happy Very Happy I do like it.
