What about an amber revolving beacon. These are quite cheaply available and come in 24v or 12v. I intend to run one of these and a blue strobe (from a burglar alarm) off a 12v dynamo plus a few other LED lights.

Sorry to say this but I think when your running old engines best try to keep to old lights. Steve you could easily pick up some old spot lights (vintage car type) from auto jumbles and replace the bulbs to 24 volts. I have a few 24 volt bulbs that might fit if you need a couple.

I agree that it is nice to keep to "period" items but sometimes, thinking 'outside of the box' can be just as effective. Here's a few pics of a set-up at Klondyke last year. Certainly impressed me the way he had mixed old and new. The lamps with the sighting scopes on top are navy signal lamps with coloured lenses fitted.

Hello,

I have found something, a Spot light off of a Tank Very Happy, the only problem is...on the 1st run on my un-regulated dynamo the engine reved up put the current through the roof and blew my bulb, now a replacment is £25 Shocked

But here it is running on the test off my Norman SC

As the set up is changing on my Scott I think I should be able to run the dynamo at 12V, then fit a car regulator in the system and convert the lamp to 12V

Cheers Steve

You could maybe use one of these if you could figure out where to fit it in.
