engine museums

Post  Steve Steel on Fri Apr 02, 2010 9:39 pm

Hello all,

I wonder if anybody can give me a heads up on engine museums, by looking around the web I can see two what look like big museums and wonder what people think, The Anson and Internal Fire, both are a very long way from home and I dont want all the travel and find its not worth it.

Steve.

Jay,

Thanks for that, there are also video's on the Internal Fire Website but they tend only to show the good bits, I'd like to know from those that have been thier views otherwise I have a 800 mile round trip to find out and at todays fuel prices that will hurt.

Hi Steve, I visit the Anson a couple of times a year. They have a little engine crank up on the opening, Easter, weekend and another on the October closing so I usually take an engine along. It is worth a visit as they have a lot of old factory engines plus a good Gardner display, my favourite, and they are mostly all operating at weekends. Only an hour and a bit from me though, you are presumably further afield?

Pete
