Had a little play at lunch, she starts 1st pull no issue, just back fires and free wheels to a stop, i think its firing just after the ignition mark so will need to adjust the timing a little to get it right!

Had a though on the way home from work!

the exhaust may be to longs and not clearing the expansion chamber, and causing exhaust gasses no to exit the cylinder!?

Well i took the pipe of and the results are to follow.

So from the videos im thinking of cutting the exhaust pipe down a bit, and read the manual on running the engine from front to cover!

well i have took about a foot and a half off the pipe and its much better!

just need to adjust the governor/throttle control so that it shuts off the throttle a bit more as it revving its nuts off at full throttle! think its set up for running a dynamo still.

Well now i know it runs i took the carb and exhaust off to paint the engine,

while cleaing the carb i found a bit of a repair job

so instead of having a polished brass carb i might paint it and keep the float top, choke and a few key bits brass, not sure if i should do it green or black? any ideas?
