wd that has no spark at plug

Got a WD,which had a couple of years as other chap could not get to to run,no find there is no spark can turn it and hold the spark plug and not get the normal poke off it.Now i know nothing about magnetos any help be nice.

try cleaning the points with some emmery paper

Done that,still no spark

make sure the bottom point isnt earthing on the magneto i had it with mine.
theres a thin piece of metal runnning off of it place a piece if plastice / tape etc under it to stop it shorting before reaching the plug

The piece of plastic is in place,above all that is a brass effect tube is that the condenser,if so the 2 screws that hold it in place are missing,it does move slightly would this cause the no spark problem

Are the points opening and closing??

Also are you getting any reading from the coil?

If any other questions give this guy a ring for info

there should be 2 screws in the and a lead under one of the screws. lewis

Hopefully sorted now,cleaned HT lead ends,can now get a poke off it when turned,so fingers crossed can get engine running tomorrow

Im getting a simular problem, can get a whack of the lead, but a weak spark when testing the lead against the casing, put a plug on it i get a spark but vanishes after a bit.

starting to get annoyed with it! may use battery coil if i get anymore annoyed

Put mag back on engine turn it and nothing,no spark or poke of HT lead,run out of answers

its earthing out on something.
check it all over and make sure its nothing small stopping it

If your getting a poke from the HT lead, check the plug is not buggered.

Even new ones can be U/S, If you know anyone with a runner see if you can borrow there plug to see if that cures the problem.
