Hi Chaps!

I come to a conclusion that the carb is to blame for its poor running!

Fuel pours out everywhere not out of the bowl but the jet side and this is only when engine is off

I find it hard to explain but i think John knows there seems to be a loose joint around the jet area of carb when you attach the carb to the engine

Do you think a Zenith (Petter A1) carb fits?

Thanks

found this on a fergie site

There must only ever be 2 ingredients in TVO

1. Petrol (unleaded is absolutely fine for a Ferguson tractor) 98 Octane

2. 28 Second Heating Oil 20 Octane

Aim for an Octane value between 55 and 70

* 55 if doing very hard work

* 70 if doing topping and the like

To give you some idea of the sums:-

* 1 petrol and 1 heating oil comes out at 59 Octane

* 2 petrol and 1 heating oil comes out at 72 Octane

* 1 petrol and 2 heating oil comes out at 46 Octane

Gents,

Had a little idea I have discussed with the rest of the Admin team and though I would pose it to the rest of the forum.

For the Forum Featured engine I was looking at forum users submitting a photo of a engine and having a monthly poll to get it featured in the forum header.

The condition is that the user submitting the photo can tell the rest of the forum a little about the engine, eg working life, or how they come by it, anything as long as its relevant to that engine.

Stuart Turner P4y year?

Hello,

Just after a date for my Stuart P4y its serial number is 10018

from my rough calculations I think that makes it 1933/4? can any one be more accurate?

My Calculations were based on:

P4, P5,P5M, P55, P55M (mixed) 8003 - 11143 Apr 1928 to May 1936

so if they made the same number every year from start of production, they would make 392.5 a year over 8 years, placing mine in the 5th (and a bit) year of production?

Hi Chaps

Im 50/50 decided what to get now

Do i go for a 3Hp Tank Cooled Petter M or a Appletop 1.5hp?

I like the idea of having the tank cooled because you dont see many on the fields but aswell you dont see many appletops on the fields....

Another thing is the tank cooled will take up more room

If i had the money i will have both of course!!
